Project Title: Development of self-regulation over the preschool years [CRCD 01/21 KKH]

Project Introduction:

This study utilises existing data from a longitudinal study to achieve two aims. First, track the development of various aspects of self-regulation across the early childhood years, from kindergarten to primary school. Second, analyse which aspects of self-regulation predict academic outcomes and its changes over time. Findings will contribute to our conceptual and operational understanding of self-regulation in early childhood, including an increased understanding of the development of different aspects of self-regulation across the early childhood years and how these aspects of self-regulation can predict academic achievement. This would help to better inform programmes targeted at developing and improving self-regulation in the formative years of early childhood and contribute to a better understanding of assessing self-regulation.
